China's National Energy Administration last week released its official district- and city-level list of pilot areas for the development of roof-distributed photovoltaic power stations.

Xiamen's Haicang, Tongan and Xiangan districts all made the list.

Xiamen's photovoltaic industry is robust and includes a number of leading enterprises in the field. City officials have prioritized emerging strategic industries such as photovoltaic electricity production.

Local players include Clenergy Xiamen and Serve Energy, both of which earned designation as a Top 20 PV support bracket enterprises of China determined by operating income in 2020. Kehua Hengsheng also made its way onto a list of top 20 PV Inverter manufacturers of China.

Xiamen-based Faratronic owns up to a 60 percent domestic market share in photovoltaics and wind power. Its partners include inverter producers such as Huawei and Sungrow.
