The local traffic police announced last week that all of the city's traffic controls are interconnected.

Authorities said that the traffic signal network can prevent traffic jams, diagnose current conditions, make instantaneous changes and evaluate performance over time.

The system uses traffic sensors to enable traffic lights to adaptively coordinate in real-time based on traffic flows, to reduce green light wastage and to minimize peak-hour intersection overflows.
